Take the Next Step in Your Taekwondo Journey
The upcoming Belt Assessment is an exciting milestone for every student at Defy Martial Arts. It is an opportunity to showcase the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that has been demonstrated throughout months of training. Every class attended, every technique practiced, and every challenge overcome has helped prepare students for this important day.
A belt assessment is about much more than earning a new belt. It is a chance for students to build confidence, develop resilience, and demonstrate the values that Taekwondo teaches both inside and outside the dojang. We encourage every student to approach their assessment with a positive attitude, do their best, and take pride in the progress they have made.
What to Expect
During the assessment, students will be evaluated on the material appropriate for their current belt level. Depending on their rank, this may include:
- Fundamental stances, blocks, strikes, and kicks
- Forms (Poomsae)
- Self-defence techniques
- Board breaking
- Overall attitude, effort, discipline, and respect
Perfection is not expected—we want students to apply what they have learned while showing determination and continuous improvement.
Preparing for Your Assessment
Success begins long before assessment day. Students can prepare by:
- Attending classes consistently
- Practicing their curriculum at home
- Listening carefully to instructor feedback
- Asking questions if they need clarification
- Maintaining a positive attitude and giving their best effort in every class
